Shiny Objects was developed from the popularity of glass jewelry by glass artist Jason Thiemann.  Jason had the desire to showcase the largest glass jewelry selection on Sanibel and Captiva Islands (tropical islands located in southwest Florida) and according to some now showcases the largest glass jewelry selection in all of Florida!

Jason is a second generation glass artist who began his career at the world famous MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Working as their resident glass artist and giving demonstrations provided Jason the opportunity to be observed by, and learn from, some of the most talented and well known glass artists in the world.   Jason's background also includes running a family-owned glass art gallery as well as his own successful wholesale operation.

It was when Jason took a vacation to Florida in 2004 that he visited beautiful Sanibel Island and realized that what he truly longed for was public interaction and the opportunity to educate people in glass.  For nearly three years he owned and operated Glassblowers of Sanibel Island, a "hands-on" glass art gallery where he provided glass blowing demonstrations and held one-on-one instruction for those who wanted to try their hand at glass blowing.  When the space right next door to the glass art gallery became available, it was clear to Jason that it was the perfect location for his glass jewelry collection.  He had one hangup, however - he had less than a day to come up with a name for his "new" location. "Shiny Objects" was born!

Jason is proud to be working with the next family generation of glass artists - his sons, Tyler and Kevin, are the family's third generation of glass artists.

Shiny Objects features glass jewelry by Jason and his sons, as well as local and national glass artists.  In addition to the largest glass jewelry selection on Sanibel/Captiva Islands, Shiny Objects also showcases a beautiful collection of jewelry including sterling silver, opal and cubic zirconia.
